Crown Molding Comes Out of Retirement to Grace CrazyLake Stage Once Again

Crown Molding Comes Out of Retirement to Grace CrazyLake Stage Once Again

GREENFIELD, IN—In a surprise announcement, the CrazyLake Acting Company revealed today that the crown molding, set piece superstar of “Run for Your Wife”, will once again return to the stage for their upcoming production of Neil Simon’s “Rumors”.  No doubt you will all remember the spectacular write-ups and rave reviews the crown molding received in its one-weekend premiere of February’s “Run for Your Wife”.  Following that production, the crown molding retired to the set barn, where it was enjoying halcyon days of relaxation wedged in between the extra flats and the costume rack.  However, the temptation and opportunity to once again steal the show was just too much.
Set decorators Chris Vetters, Terri Corey, and Rachelle Cole share the inside secrets behind the crown molding’s decision to come out of retirement.  “It seemed a shame not to use it,” Vetters said.  “It was just taking up space.”
“A good dusting and a fresh coat of paint and it was ready to go again,” said Rachelle Cole.
“And there’s absolutely no truth to the rumor that it asked to be traded to another theatre company in exchange for a wireless doorbell system,” adds Corey.
The crown molding is excited to be appearing once again with the CrazyLakers and hopes not to be upstaged by the Coles’ living room furniture or the recently installed bathroom sink.
You can see the famous crown molding, along with the rest of the fabulous set (oh, AND the actors) in Neil Simon’s “Rumors” this weekend and next.  Performances are August 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, and 30th at the Ricks Centre for the Arts at 122 West Main in Greenfield.  Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m.  All tickets are $10 and are available at the CrazyLake Art House in Greenfield or on line at www.CrazyLake.com.   E-mail Chris@CrazyLake.com or visit the web site for more information.
